Logistics Director manages all aspects of an organization's logistics management function to control, deliver, and distribute products and materials to the destination. Implements an overall strategy, metrics, and processes to deploy an optimized logistic network and operations. Being a Logistics Director oversees critical and related inventory, distribution, and transportation operations that support the achievement of organizational goals and KPI's for product delivery and customer satisfaction. Selects vendors and negotiates rates and service levels and monitors performance. Additionally, Logistics Director ensures compliance with all regulations governing transportation of goods. Utilizes analytics to monitor and measure performance, identify problems in operations, and achieve high performance at optimal cost. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Logistics Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Logistics Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     We are seeking seasonal, full-time employees for a fast-paced maritime agency office. A Logistics Coordinator is a vital position that supports our agency’s field operations and the cruise industry through arranging and confirming a variety of shoreside services. This is a detail-oriented position with extensive digital (computer), written and verbal communication. Duties include processing medical services, confirming hotels, procurement of provisions and supplies, coordination of deliveries, processing mail and courier services and arranging transportation. The Logistics Coordinator 1 will have more responsibility which includes significant procurement activity and shoreside services for specifically assigned luxury and adventure type cruise ships and will work directly with the Vessel Agents (field operations) for these set of ships.

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinate daily tasks through our agency’s Dispatcher, Lead Agent, and Administrative Manager
    • Arrange services such as hotel, transportation, procurement, appointments, deliveries
    • Enter and organize information in detail-oriented office systems for record-keeping and the coordination of dispatches and field operations.
    • Work well with others on a high-functioning performance-based team made up of a diverse group of people.

    • Must be a team player Must be at least 16 years of age for entry level Logistics
    • Must be 18 years of age for advance level Logistics
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 products and familiarity with cloud computing
    • Logistics 1 must have some college level education or prior office/customer service work experience

    Compensation

    • Logistics Coordinator (entry level) starting at $14/hr Logistics Coordinator (advanced) starting at $20/hr
    • Overtime after 8 hours in a workday and/or 40 hours in a work week.
    • Bonus upon successful completion of the cruise season

    Schedule

    • Seasonal full-time position (4-6 days per week, may include weekend days), work shift positions:
      • 8 AM – 4:30 PM
      • 7 AM – 3:30 PM
      • Evening Logistics 3 PM – 11 PM
      • Part-time positions may be available
    Relocation, Housing & Transportation are the responsibility of the employee.

    Must reside in Juneau, Alaska or be able to relocate to Juneau, AK to start working by May 15th, 2024
