Role:
To assist members with their loan applications; process and make loan disbursements. Ensures that the quality control standards on all loan documents meet credit union and regulatory requirements. Follows up with members and other clients as needed.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Reviews consumer loan application files to verify that application data is complete and meets credit union standards, including type and amount of loan, borrower assets, liabilities, and length of employment.
• Follows up with the Loan Officer to determine status. Processes approved loans and sets up date and time to close the loan and make disbursements.
• Prepares and mails approval and denial letters to applicants.
• Files loan documents with the appropriate agencies.
• Answers member phone calls.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Works with third parties as necessary to insure lien placement and insurance claims are completed.

Performance Measurements:

• Produce loan documents, reports, and new accounts in a timely and accurate fashion.
• Accurately prepare file for underwriting.
• Accurately review, organize and complete member loan files.
• Provide friendly, accurate, professional service to members and associates by responding to messages and correspondence.
• Meet or exceed the minimum established individual goals each month.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of all products and rates within the credit union and from the industry.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Experience: One to two years of similar or related experience. Loan processing experience with good knowledge of both mortgage and consumer loan documentation desired.

Education: A high school education or equivalent.

Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.

Other Skills
1. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
2. Must be able to operate general office equipment including 10-key calculator, multi-line phone, copier, and fax.
3. Must have computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic email functions.
4. Must have excellent time management, attention to detail and organizational skills.
5. Must have the ability to prioritize tasks and be willing to adjust to changing job demands.

Physical Requirements
Communicating: Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately and efficiently.

Hearing ability: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.

Finger dexterity:Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as keyboarding, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.

Repetitive motion: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Visual ability:Average, ordinary, vision necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products,
or operate machinery.

Physical strength: Sedentary work; standing occasionally for periods of time. Exerts up to 30 lbs. of force occasionally.

Work Environment: Standard office setting; Some travel may be required

Pay: $19.50 - $22.00 per hour
