JOB TITLE: Business Development Officer (BDO) Revised: 2/6/2024
REPORTS TO: Vice President of Service FLSA: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY FUNCTION: Under the direction of the VP of Service, the BDO will initiate contact with potential businesses to establish new business relationships and drive new memberships. The BDO will attend community events to promote Members Heritage Credit Union. Works with Marketing Director on marketing and social media platforms.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE: High School Diploma or the equivalent, and a commensurate level of language, math, and reasoning skills. Must possess knowledge of methods, practices and terminology of credit union or retail banking. 1 year of related experience required. Must maintain good driving record and possess a valid Driver's License.

OF TIME Major Duties and Responsibilities:
45% Establishes, manages, and sustains constructive and productive relationships with SEGs, civic, charitable, community, and local/state organizations to facilitate an appropriate level of support and contribution by the credit union to the community.
25% Identify and implement MHCU 's strategic initiatives, with special emphasis on the business strategies that achieve growth of membership, new business partners and under-served areas and increase market penetration.
20% Inform and recommend MHCU management of relevant needs, pertinent business opportunities and material or adverse developments in the business partner population to ensure maximum effectiveness of their activities.
5% Actively work to ensure Credit Union compliance with OFAC< Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering and U.S.A. Patriot Act by following all Credit Union policies and procedures and attending regular training as required.
5% Perform other related duties as assigned.
