Land Support Agent Supervisor jobs in Delaware

Land Support Agent Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the support and administration of all land related activities. Prepares special reports as required by management, reviewing all other specialized reports as well as lease and royalty paperwork, coordinating changes or corrections as required. Being a Land Support Agent Supervisor serves as a liaison to the legal department and land purchasing department to ensure that there are no land title or other land related issues. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Land Support Agent Supervisor typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Land Support Agent Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Land Support Agent Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     The Opportunity

    We are seeking a Support Oversight Supervisor to join our Firm. This position will be based in our Wilmington, Delaware office (hybrid).

    This position will oversee the day-to-day coverage needs and daily operations of the Legal Assistant Services, Secretarial Services and Legal Technology Departments ("the Departments"), and additional responsibilities including, but not limited to, staff oversight, training and employee development, and process improvement in the Wilmington office.

    • Coordinates and oversees daily assignments and day-to-day operations, ongoing projects, and professional development of employees in the Departments.
    • Assists with programs that increase Departmental efficiency, strengthen employee knowledge and abilities, encourage leadership, and maintain upper margin service support for attorneys and clients.
    • Provides leadership and continued professional development for the Departments, including the advancement of training initiatives.
    • Promotes an environment of teamwork and self-directed work teams by incorporating internal and external training methodologies and the continual evolvement of team efficiencies.
    • Develops and communicates Departmental guidelines and procedures.
    • Ensures accurate and timely responses to request for Department services.
    • Actively seeks to enhance knowledge of and familiarity with all procedures and Firm software and applications.
    • Identifies issues and needs of the workplace environment and communicates those issues and needs to the Office Administrative Director and / or Director of Legal Assistant Services, when appropriate.
    • Collaborates with the Office Administrative Director and / or Director of Legal Assistant Services to ensure proper daily workflow and assignments of attorney / secretarial and attorney / legal assistant teams.
    • Assists with determining the operational support required for new cases and overall case management.
    • Meets with attorneys regularly to determine the operational support required for new matters and overall case / deal management.
    • Consults with attorneys to ensure proper daily and long-term work flow and assignments of attorney / secretarial and attorney / legal assistant teams.
    • Ensures current knowledge of Firm policies and practices for staff, current knowledge of industry trends, and continued professional development for staff.
    • Participates in the interviewing, selection and training process for the Departments.
    • Actively seeks out alternative methods and / or best practices for all workflow and procedures.
    • Recommends and implements changes and improvements in methods and procedures to higher level management.
    • Monitors time, attendance, overtime, and expense reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with Firm policies.
    • Works with the Office Administrative Director and / or Director of Legal Assistant Services to prepare and monitor department budgets and expenditures, and ensure that vendors provide cost-effective services.
    • Reviews disbursement reports to ensure compliant and appropriate billing.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of the litigation process and case management skills, as well as familiarity with corporate transactions.
    • Actively assists with coordinating work room and review space.
    • Coordinates legal assistant staffing with supervisors and managers in other offices.
    • Oversees and manages scheduling for secretarial staff.
    • Coordinates secretarial projects, including identifying resources required, overseeing progress of ongoing projects, communicating closely with others regarding the progress of projects, and ensuring that all administrative tasks are being completed both timely and efficiently.
    • Effectively utilizes the Firm's performance management process to communicate performance expectations, monitor performance, coach employees, and manage unsatisfactory performance.
    • Oversees employee work performance and provide guidance in the resolution of problems.
    • Recommends and participates in disciplinary procedures.
    • Demonstrates effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others.
    • Manages Firm resources responsibly.
    • Complies with and understands Firm operations, policies and procedures.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Demonstrated experience with leading and supervising others
    • Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems
    • Working knowledge of litigation matters and corporate transactions with litigation support / legal technology experience
    • Proven ability to effectively lead, coordinate and implement projects, processes and change management
    • Ability to take initiative and responsibility when dealing with Departmental issues
    • Current knowledge of industry best practices, trends and techniques
    • Strong technology skills, including relevant Firm programs such as, MS Word, advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and project management and database applications with the ability to learn new software and operating systems

    Education / Experience

    • Bachelor's degree required
    • Minimum five (5) years of relevant administrative management experience in a law firm and / or professional services field
