Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Laboratory Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.      A Day in the Life of an Account Manager:

    • Serve as the main point of contact for customers in the Mills and Metal Makers sector, ensuring their needs are met promptly and efficiently.
    • Handle customer inquiries and tasks such as pricing, addressing customer complaints, facilitating communication between customers and subject matter experts (SMEs), and managing invoicing and billing queries.
    • Coordinate and manage the Request for Quotation process with the assistance of internal technical experts.
    • Take ownership of orders, from initial inquiry to completion, collaborating with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
      • Actively manage orders, including monitoring status, dates, pricing, and adding testing services as needed.
      • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure orders are processed efficiently.
      • Proactively identify any issues or delays with orders and taking appropriate actions to resolve them promptly.
      • Communicate effectively with customers regarding order status updates, ensuring transparency and maintaining positive relationships.
    • Proactively engage in daily customer type meetings to review open orders, open estimates, stopped orders, and late jobs that need to be prioritized. 
    • Serve as the point of contact for customer visits and meetings and collaborate with Subject Matter Experts and internal staff.
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers for assigned accounts.
    • Utilize HubSpot to track and manage deals pipeline for the respective customer type, and for capturing the following:
      • Customer calls, visits, and call-reports.
      • Leads, Opportunities, and Proposals
      • Wins and Losses.
      • Customer complaints.
    • Conduct regularly scheduled account maintenance calls and use cross-selling techniques to increase customer value and prevent attrition.
    • Foster and maintain strong relationships with the Business Development Team, collaborating closely to identify and capitalize on sales opportunities arising from cross-selling initiatives or customer referrals. 
    • Continually increase professional and technical knowledge by attending education workshops, reviewing publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in trade show events.
    • Understand and comply with LTI’s QA program, internal policies, and procedures.
    • Follow all safety rules and regulations and utilize personal protective equipment, as required in designated areas.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

     QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Engineering Degree or bachelor’s degree (BA) with at least 10 years of experience managing customers in an engineering or technical environment.
    • Demonstrated experience in B2B customer service or account management, preferably within the Mills & Metal Makers sector, with a track record of building and maintaining strong client relationships.
    • Strong Communicator.
    • Background in metals and manufacturing or similar field, with an understanding of material testing.
    • Industry knowledge and experience in working with or selling to the Mills and Metal Makers sector, including familiarity with their processes, challenges, and market trends.
    • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and Microsoft Office suite, with the capability to efficiently manage customer data, track interactions, and generate reports.
    • Must be organized and results driven.
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize activities that require completion.
    • Ability to work independently and with teams.
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen or possess a valid green card.
