Labor Relations Manager implements and maintains a company's labor relations programs, policies, and procedures. Ensures satisfactory labor-management relations and helps interpret collective bargaining agreements. Being a Labor Relations Manager leads grievance procedures including arbitrations and assists all levels of management on labor matters. Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Additionally, Labor Relations Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Labor Relations Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Labor Relations Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Summary:

    The Senior Manager - HR/Labor Relations supports Energy Transfer and Sunoco's general management on employee and labor relations matters.  Support includes employee and labor relations matters.

    • Serve as company spokesperson for collective bargaining negotiations, contract administration, grievance handling, and arbitration processes.
    • Interpret and ensure compliance with labor laws, employment regulations, and collective bargaining agreements.
    • Collaborate with management to design and implement HR policies and procedures that align with labor relations strategies.
    • Stay updated on labor market trends, industry standards, and changes in employment laws to ensure compliance and recommend necessary updates to policies and practices.
    • Analyzes, interprets, and administers various labor contracts in preparation and participation in contract negotiation.
    • Acts as an internal advisor to management by analyzing and recommending solutions to employee relations issues.
    • Conducts internal investigations on employment issues, including complaints involving discrimination or harassment and recommends appropriate action at the conclusion of the investigation.
    • Coordinates and/or conducts new hire orientations and exit interviews.
    • Other duties and projects as assigned.

    Required Skills:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations or Human Resources, or a related field (e.g. Business Administration, Industrial Psychology)
    • 10 years of Human Resources and Labor Relations experience
    • Working knowledge of state and federal employment laws such as NLRA, FMLA, FLSA, Title VII, etc.
    • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and attention to detail.
    • Excellent work ethic, organizational and time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and function independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Working knowledge of state and federal employment laws such as NLRA, FMLA, FLSA, Title VII, etc.
    • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and attention to detail.
    • Excellent work ethic, organizational and time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects, meet

    Working Conditions:

    • Usually, normal office working conditions.
    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
    • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
    • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
