The Washington State Department of Corrections is seeking a dedicated, self-starter to join the Information Technology team as the IT Quality Assurance - Journey! As the leader of the Quality Assurance team, you will serve as an application testing specialist focused on developing and implementing test plans for OMNI and other software applications developed and/or maintained by DOC.
In this role, you will be responsible for creating and updating system test cases and regression test cases, logging and tracking defects and enhancements and automating regression test cases. The position is responsible for performing functional testing, system testing, regression testing, system interface testing and conversion testing. In addition, you will be responsible for performing backend testing using highly complex SQL queries.
You will be responsible for estimating and handling multiple testing efforts for assigned projects and responsibilities. A large responsibility will be to ensure the test team is specifically oriented to maintain an independent, objective stance ensuring quality in software prior to production release.

This position may be allocated for telework. Work may be performed from your home or another offsite location within the state of Washington using a reliable internet or cellular hotspot service at that time. Employees are expected to perform assigned duties in a safe manner, to take proper care all state-issued equipment, and maintain confidentiality of all information in possession while working offsite. Employees will be required to commute to a Department of Corrections facility or field office as business requires, to potentially include components of the onboarding process. Some offices will have a “drop in” area available, however, a dedicated workspace within a DOC facility will not be provided.
