Our accounting team is hiring a Controller who is a leader in the construction industry. This role offers a unique opportunity to oversee financial operations and reporting, providing strategic leadership and direction in financial planning, budgeting, internal controls, and risk management. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a strong background in homebuilding, financial analysis, accounting, financial management, cost control, and budgeting.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all financial operations, including financial planning, budgeting, cost control, and financial management.
- Implement and manage effective internal controls to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to identify trends, forecast future financial performance, and guide strategic decision-making.
- Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.
- Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements and reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Manage risk effectively, identifying potential financial risks and implementing strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes, improve financial performance, and achieve company goals.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and professional standards.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (CPA, CMA, etc.) is highly preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of financial analysis, accounting, financial management, cost control, and budgeting.
- Proven experience with risk management and implementing effective internal controls.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the homebuilding industry.
- Strong ability to prepare and analyze financial statements and reports.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- High level of integrity, with a commitment to upholding professional standards and ethics.
