Position Overview
We are seeking an Assistant Controller to oversee our accounting department, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of financial statements and reports. This role involves establishing and enforcing proper accounting processes, policies, and controls, and providing support to other accounting team members as needed.
Specific Roles & Responsibilities
Oversee timely month-end close, including the review and updating of existing reconciliations.
Support acquisition integration and purchase accounting when necessary.
Develop and support international business growth and processes.
Ensure state and local tax compliance, including registrations and accurate, timely filings.
Assist with year-end audit activities, including managing the PBC list and corresponding with auditors.
Maintain and develop accounting policies and processes.
Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.
Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.
Occasional domestic travel required for in-person team, department, and company meetings.
Qualifications
7 years of progressive accounting experience.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
Public Accounting Experience Preferred.
CPA license required.
Strong communication skills.
Experience in hiring, training, and supervising employees.
Thorough knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606 and 842.
Experience with international operations.
Experience with acquisition integrations and consolidations.
Advanced knowledge of Excel required (pivot tables, vlookups, etc.).
Experience With NetSuite Preferred.
General curiosity and inquisitive nature.
