Seeking a community habilition worker who will be responsible for providing high quality care and support to an 18-year old client, ensuring thier physical, emotional and social well being. This role will require the applicant to assist with daily activities and most importantly to acheive a greater independence.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping people and have a great rapport with the client
**Responsibilities:**
- Provide directives to support independence within the home as well as the community
- Assist with daily living activities including teaching and implementing home chores and activites
- Implement behavior management strategies to support individual with autism
- Collaborate with the family and healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care
- Engage in activities that promote socialization and skill development
-Will be required to complete several training through OPWDD which are compensated
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of care provided
**Experience:**
The ideal candidate should possess some of the following skills and experiences:
- Experience in data collection related to client care
- Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder
- Valid driver's license for transportation needs
- Background in home or community care services
- Understanding of social work principles
- Background in special education or childcare would be preferred
- Proficiency in behavior management techniques
