Core responsibilities of this position include
The Interim Instructor, Nursing position is position responsible for instruction and development of curriculum in the School of Health Sciences and Wellness department. As a member of the Nursing team, this position will work closely with the other faculty to build a robust curriculum for our students.
Full-time faculty are offered provisional status upon employment. Full participation in the Faculty Academy is expected throughout the provisional period; faculty are eligible to apply for continuing contract status in their fourth year of full-time employment at LCCC. All LCCC faculty are supported by the Faculty Academy within the Center for Excellence in Teaching.
Other tasks may be assigned based on contemporary institutional need.

Applying competency-based design to the development of curriculum. Engaging with colleagues at the course, program, and institutional level with the aim of continuous improvement.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
All LCCC faculty are expected to demonstrate proficiency in the competency areas appropriate to their faculty level as defined in the College’s Administrative Procedure 2.17.1P. In addition, requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position include.- Maintain professional knowledge
- Work in an environment of collaboration
- Teach course content that is consistent with the official course outline of record
- Read and interpret instructions in oral, written, or diagrammatical form, and effectively and professionally execute the essential functions of this position.
- The essential functions of this position require the ability to work in a medical setting with potential exposure to bodily fluids and blood borne pathogens; Personal Protective Equipment and safety procedures must be utilized as required.
- To successfully perform the essential functions of this position, an employee must be able to maintain appropriate composure and necessary confidentiality with regard to both past and current employee, student, and donor data; documents; issues; etc., and respect privacy needs of employees, students, donors
- The ability to comply with highly inflexible deadlines is required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position; there will be multiple occurrences of sudden, urgent task completion required
- While performing the essential functions of this position a variable work schedule may be required including long workdays, evenings, and weekends as needed
- There may be occurrences of interacting with employees and/or students, past employees and/or students, members of the general public, and others who express opinions, may exhibit strong emotions, which will require the employee to interact professionally, diplomatically, and appropriately in such situations
- There may be multiple/daily instances of prolonged sitting, standing, and personal computer use, which would include keyboard and/or mouse usage as well as viewing a computer monitor
- An employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds to perform essential position functions. Lifts exceeding 50 pounds require a team lift technique.
- Able to manipulate instruments, supplies, and equipment with speed, dexterity, and exceptional hand-eye coordination.
- Able to function in an environment with substantial latex and/or nitrile material exposure and without an allergic reaction.
Education and Experience Requirements
Minimum Qualifications- Master of Science degree in Nursing and/or Nursing Education from a regionally accredited institution (MS, MSN) - OR - Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) from a regionally accredited institution and the ability to complete a Master of Science degree in Nursing and/or Nursing Education from a regionally accredited institution (MS, MSN) within 4 years of hire date. If the faculty member does not hold a Master of Science Degree at hiring, then they should submit a plan within the first semester showing how they will complete the Master of Science degree in the four years of being hired.
- Minimum of 2 years of Registered Nurse clinical experience.
- License/Certification Current, unencumbered, NLC multi-state compact nursing license that includes the state of Wyoming or an active Wyoming license or the ability to obtain a Wyoming license. For more information regarding licensure visit http//www.nursecompact.com/
Preferred Qualifications- Doctoral degree in Nursing Education, Education, or a closely related field of study from a regionally accredited institution
- Experience with web-based learning management systems
- Two or more years of college-level teaching experience
- Two or more years of work experience in an applied field
