Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Nursing typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research.     Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Nursing and enrollment in an accredited Master's Degree Nursing program

    -AND-

    Current unencumbered Oregon RN license-OR-eligible for Oregon Licensure (no investigation pending by any State Board of Nursing)

    -AND-

    Minimum of three years of full-time  medical surgical patient care experience at the registered nurse level 

    -AND-

    Documented competency in teaching through experience, educational preparation, or continuing education

    -AND-

    Experience teaching in a variety of modalities including face-to-face, remote, hybrid, and/or online


    -----OR-----


    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Nursing and a master’s or

    doctoral degree in a related field with relevant teaching and nursing experience

    related to the teaching assignment

    -AND-

    Current unencumbered Oregon RN license-OR-eligible for Oregon Licensure (no investigation pending by any State Board of Nursing)

    -AND-

    Minimum of three years of full-time medical surgical patient care experience at the registered nurse level 

    -AND-

    Documented competency in teaching through experience, educational preparation, or continuing education

    -AND-

    Experience teaching in a variety of modalities including face-to-face, remote, hybrid, and/or online

    • Master's degree from an accredited institution in Nursing with 5 years’ experience  medical surgical

    • Teaching experience in nursing education program within the past five years

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

    • This is a 100%, 10-month faculty assignment of the F9 band and grade
    • All positions at Chemeketa are required to be available for work onsite as requested by the college.
    • Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and/or weekends
    • This position may require the use of your personal vehicle for transportation between campus locations
    • If requested, you must supply official transcripts within 30-days of hire
    • Employees must maintain Oregon, Washington or Idaho residency as a condition of employment.
    • Successful applicants for designated positions must successfully pass a background inquiry, which may include criminal, driving, credit and full background checks. Only information relevant to the position will be considered. An individual with negative information on their background inquiry will not necessarily be denied employment.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

    Light WorkExerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Even though weight lifted may be negligible, it may be rated light work if frequent walking and/or standing is required.
