    Position Summary
    University College is an academic support department and is accepting applications for a position as Instructor of English.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Required Education
    Master’s degree in English or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours of coursework in English.

    Minimum Required Experience
    Teaching experience with at-risk students.

    Minimum Required Licenses and/or Certifications
    None required.

    Qualifications
    • Ability to use technology in the classrooms, including learning management systems.
    • Working knowledge of learning differences and/or learning disabilities, and best practices in teaching underprepared students.
    • Working knowledge of the Banner system.

    Skills and Abilities
    • Creative and innovative skills and abilities.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities
    • Teach classes designed to meet the needs of a special population of students who are identified as at-risk.
    • Create individualized action plans to help each student achieve academic goals.
    • Develop and document instructional outcomes.
    • Provide weekly academic progress reports to the program coordinator for tutorials.
    • Advise and mentor students.
    • Monitor students at on-campus and off-campus program activities.
    • Provide a positive learning environment.
    • Complete all requested reports by the Chair of University College and the Dean.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by Chair of University College.
