Instructor - Drama teaches courses in the discipline area of drama. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Drama provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Drama typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. JOB SUMMARY
MICDS is seeking a dynamic and talented teacher to join our Middle School Drama and Theatre Arts team for the 2024-2025 school year. The ideal candidate will have training in theatre arts education and experience teaching classroom drama at the middle school level. Responsibilities include teaching 5th and 6th grade drama classes and directing and co-directing Middle School theatre productions.
As a member of our Arts Department team and Middle School community, this person will value effective collaboration with other faculty colleagues in a shared goal of creating and maintaining a student-centered theatre arts program.
MICDS encourages ongoing professional growth and seeks faculty with a strong interest in implementing new curriculum and pedagogies aligned with highly effective teaching practices as well as a commitment to meeting the needs of a diverse group of learners.
Preference is given to candidates with a bachelors degree in Theatre Arts Education and experience teaching classroom drama at the Middle School level.
