Instructor - Accounting teaches courses in the discipline area of accounting. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Accounting provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Accounting typically reports to a department head. The SUNY Corning Community College Business & Accounting Department seeks trained accountants and/or financial professionals to teach courses in Accounting and Business for the 2024-2025 Academic year (August 26, 2024-May 17, 2025). Instructors are responsible for teaching a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing material for the classes, grading assignments submitted in connection with the classes, holding an office hour for each course taught to assist students as needed. The course may be in-person live, asynchronous on-line, or synchronous on-line, depending on the needs of the department. While course materials are provided, visiting instructors are expected to update and organize the material as needed. Visiting instructors may be required to attend occasional meetings. A Bachelors in Accounting with a Master’s in Business, Accounting or a related field is preferred. However, candidates with a Bachelors in Business will be considered if they have had coursework in intermediate accounting and a Master’s in Business or if they have a Masters in Accounting. Some teaching experience at the Community College level is preferred.
Occasional meetings at different CCC locations and in the community may be required; travel to conferences and/or recruiting events may be required
