Housing Manager

  • Duties

    • Provides technical housing expertise and assistance to garrison Commander/Manager and other installation staff.
    • Develops garrison policies for all aspects of housing programs.
    • Provide oversight of budgeting and execution (AFH and OMA) in support of installation housing programs.
    • Performs or directs periodic or scheduled surveys, audits, reviews, studies, and inspections to determine family housing conditions or requirements.
    • Responsible for the management of contractual agreements with the contractor(s) for multiple sites for both family and unaccompanied housing.

    • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

    • Installation may require incumbent to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08).
    • This position is an inclement weather essential position and the incumbent is expected to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
    • Position may require after hours call-back for emergencies.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.     Qualification Requirements: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes directing and coordinating the operation, maintenance, and repairs of military housing management programs. Providing guidance on all matters related to the management, operation, and utilization of housing assets and facilities; perform inspections to determine family housing conditions and/or requirements of work being performed under housing contracts: and developing and planning the executing of budgets to support housing programs along with analyzing and assessing data for a variety of reports pertinent to availability of housing. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

    Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
