Job Summary:

Provide leadership in technology functions of the College of Arts and Sciences. Serve as project manager for large and small technology initiatives throughout the college with annual funding in excess of $2.5 million. Administer a technology support department consisting of 4 computer support specialists, a systems administrator, a financial coordinator and approximately six student technicians. Scope of service includes dean, college administrative offices, 24 academic departments, 4 student centers, 43 computer labs, support for department multimedia classrooms, over 3000 computers, and file, web, license management, applications servers. Serve as college IT security officer.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and five years of related experience.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with customers on multiple levels, including university administrators, college administrators, department administrators, staff, students, employees, vendors, and the community. Ability to build, lead, and mentor project and department teams. Exhibit excellent analytical and problem solving skills and the ability guide and encourage employees to develop these skills. Experience with Windows, Macintosh, and Linux operating systems as a user and administrator.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree and  10 years of progressive responsibility in technology support. Prior supervisory and management experience. Leadership experience in technology support within a university environment.

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or GIAC Security Essentials Certification or Cisco Certified Network Associate or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) or HelpDesk Institute Certified Director (CHDD) or Manager (CHDM).
