Information Technology Manager manages the implementation and administration of information systems and equipment in accordance with organizational policies and goals. Administers internal procedures and guidelines to diagnose and resolve technical issues across different systems and technologies, including hardware, software, and networks. Being an Information Technology Manager oversees the analysis of business needs and selects IT hardware and software products to support internal business processes. Develops detailed documentation of methodologies, processes, and specifications of an organization's IT systems and assists with the planning of the organization's IT roadmap. Additionally, Information Technology Manager manages the IT strategy and roadmap to ensure computer equipment, hardware, and software operate in alignment with organizational needs and standards. Plans and implements an organization's network infrastructure including LANs, WANs, and wireless networks and monitors network performance. Allocates resources and oversees departmental budget to support and manage IT projects through the entire lifecycle. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Information Technology Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Information Technology Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The Norway Savings Bank IT team is seeking an experienced and tech-savvy individual to join us as an Information Technology Manager, AVP!

    Stepping into this role, you’ll assist in overseeing the overall system and network technologies team as well as the installation, configuration, maintenance and upgrades of all WAN/LAN equipment, infrastructure technologies and related software.

    You’ll play a role in ensuring that all of our operating systems and network applications are up to date with security patches and program updates, and that our security protection is functional and also up to date by managing firewalls, proxy servers, anti-virus software, passwords, and access and file system permissions.

    Additionally, you’ll contribute to our long-term technology business plan, and will be a voice in recommending new and/or upgrades to the bank’s informational systems in order to support the strategic goals we have at Norway Savings.

    In this position, you'll have the opportunity to work in both our Operations Center in Norway, as well as our Congress Street branch in Portland.

    The Essential Pieces Of The Position

    • Ensures all network servers, LAN, and Wide Area Network communications are fully functional and secure.
    • Ensures all server based and selected individual computer data is properly archived and secured in a manner allowing for business continuation during disaster situations.
    • Ensures all servers (virtual and physical) are functional and capable of performing required business functions.
    • Assists and participates in the scheduling and deployment of bank technology projects.
    • Oversees and manages daily ITS operations and Helpdesk personnel.
    • Continually practices proper security procedures with respect to internet access, data access, anti-virus protection, user password protection, file system rights and permissions, and intrusion.
    • Works with ITS personnel to ensure timely problem resolution.
    • Works with ISO and ITS personnel to implement security controls and best practices.
    • Contributes to the training of ITS staff and onboarding of new staff.
    • Oversees the configuring and implementation of new and replacement equipment including servers, computers, routers and switches.
    • Contributes to the documentation of processes, procedures, and problem resolution.
    • Contributes to BCP/DR design, assessment, testing and documentation.
    • Ensures operability of VOIP phone system including upgrades, configuration and feature implementation.
    • Oversees all conference room audio/video equipment.
    • Stays abreast of technological advances relative to the financial services industry.
    • Helps contribute to the business technology planning regarding upgrades, EOL of systems, and the use of new technology.
    • Evaluates, recommends and facilitates the purchase of IT equipment including but not limited to servers, computers, routers, switches and software.
    • Serves as a member of various committees related to technology, safety & information security, and bank strategy.
    • Ensures compliance with established information security policies, procedures, and regulations.

    Other Duties

    • Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to system needs.
    • Occasional travel to branch offices may be required.

    Our Candidate Will Need

    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Technology from an accredited college or equivalent work experience.
    • Understanding of Microsoft server, Windows 10/11, Virtualization, SAN’s, Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, MS Office Suite, Azure, Backup and Recovery Systems, and Antivirus software administration.
    • Security training and experience including firewall configurations, proxy servers, Cisco Routers and any other network attached devices.
    • Ability to perform security audits on networked servers, PCs, firewalls, and routers using specialized tools such as scanners and inventory systems.
    • Familiarity with Banking Regulations and Cyber Security.
    • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
    • Be flexible and willing to travel when needed.
    • Familiarity with mobile device technologies.
    • Expert problem-solving, time management, multi-tasking, and creative thinking skills.

    Working Conditions

    Physical surroundings are generally pleasant and comfortable with minimal exposure to injury or other hazards.

    Some physical effort required; normally seated with freedom of movement on a regular basis; handling of light materials and supplies; lifting and moving equipment and crawling under desks to ensure appropriate connections/configuration.
