IT Project Manager
This person will lead projects to launch and to continue support of Information Technology solutions that span hardware, software and services, in a continuous effort to provide world-class customer, partner and employee experiences. They will drive continuous process improvement, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering, operations and IT teams to solve critical business problems and implement new solutions.
Day to day activities
* Understand how company operates and use this knowledge to provide a company-wide viewpoint for IT solutions.
* Manage multiple competing cross-functional IT projects/programs simultaneously.
* Know the difference and when to apply plan-driven vs agile project management approaches.
* Develop and manage detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, budgets, resource plans, risk identification and mitigation plans as well as monthly reports and overall KPIs for Technical Programs.
* Gather and analyze requirements, set priorities, define project schedules, manage project resources (both internal and external) and facilitate sprint planning (where applicable).
* Interact with electrical, mechanical and software engineers, line of business leaders and IT stakeholders on a daily basis.
* Run meetings, create and maintain timelines, and keep large, diverse groups informed of progress and impediments.
* Work with engineers and business stakeholders across the organization to develop detailed and creative solutions to complex problems, while keeping a watchful eye on timelines, risks and costs.
* Ensure consistency and adherence to quality standards in deployed solutions and track exceptions for follow up.
*Clarify and drive project commitments as well as establish and maintain clear chains of accountability, both inside and outside of the IT department.
Must haves:
* 5 years of IT experience, with a focus on Business Process Management and Project/Program Management in a corporate IT environment.
* Has successfully led the delivery of multiple complex IT solutions into production, including hardware and software projects.
* Experience with IT Business Continuity Plan and/or Disaster Recovery Plan creation and annual test execution.
* Experience with managing SOC 2 Type 2 audits is preferred.
* Experience with Agile methodologies, such as Scrum and Kanban.
* Experience with project management software such as Jira and Smartsheet
* Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; a sense of humor is a must!
* Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field, or equivalent practical experience
Nice to haves:
* Six Sigma or PMI/PMP Certification is a plus.
