Information Security Manager is responsible for developing and managing Information Systems cyber security, including disaster recovery, database protection and software development. Manages IS security analysts to ensure that all applications are functional and secure. Being an Information Security Manager develops and delivers IS security standards, best practices, architecture and systems to ensure information system security across the enterprise. Implements procedures and methods for auditing and addressing non-compliance to information security standards. Additionally, Information Security Manager migrates non-compliant environments to compliant environments. Evaluates the organization to ensure compliance with standards and relevance with industry security norms. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Information Security Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Information Security Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     FITS is seeking an Information Security Consultant to support cloud cybersecurity compliance consulting and auditing. Our consultants provide subject matter expertise on contracts supporting cloud service providers large and small who are seeking to achieve or maintain cybersecurity certifications for their cloud service offerings. Team members work diligently and collaboratively to identify risks associated with security gaps in our clients’ cloud services and provide recommendations on how those gaps may be addressed. FITS’ Information Security Consultants provide guidance to clients regarding security requirements for a variety of compliance frameworks and their technical and operational implementations. This is a full-time salaried position with compensation based on experience and overall strength of the candidate. The ideal candidate will have meticulous attention to detail, strong communication skills, a broad understanding of IT and cybersecurity topics, and some prior experience with security controls. 

    What you’ll do: 

    1. Engage in IT system security consultation within cloud-based environments in accordance with NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, and other cybersecurity frameworks.
    2. Conduct client interviews and assessments of client cloud IT architecture for compliance with security requirements.
    3. Evaluate risks associated with systems or planned changes and recommend mitigation strategies.
    4. Develop IT security deliverables, including security policies, standards, plans, architectural guidance, and vulnerability reporting for client systems.
    5. Educate clients on the ins and outs of architecting and maintaining a compliant system efficiently.
    6. Compare vulnerability scan output with system inventory to generate reports and drive remediation efforts. 

    Required Qualifications: 

    • Clearance: None 
    • Citizenship: None Required  
    • Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited academic institution in a relevant field (e.g. cybersecurity, IT, computer science) or equivalent experience 
    • Experience: 6 years’ experience in cybersecurity, IT audit, or IT/cloud operations 
    • Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools and techniques, as well as the ability to analyze scan results and prioritize remediation efforts. 
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong attention to detail, organization, resourcefulness, and critical thinking skills
    • Commitment to continuous learning and staying up to date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies.
    • Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) or ability to obtain this within 6 months of hire  
    • One or more mid-level hands-on IaaS provider certifications or ability to obtain certification within 12 months of hire, for example:
      • AWS Certified Solutions Architect- Associate  
      • Azure Associate  
      • Azure Fundamentals  
      • Google Cloud Security Engineer  
    • At least one of the following certifications or similar:
      • CompTIA  Security
      • ISACA Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
      • CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner Continuing Education (CASP ) Continuing Education (CE)
      • CompTIA Cloud (Cloud ) 

    Preferred Qualifications: 

    • Exposure to FISMA, FedRAMP, and/or NIST 800-53 compliance frameworks 
    • Exposure to other cybersecurity frameworks such as SOC2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, HITRUST CSF 
    • Experience with or knowledge of major IaaS/PaaS cloud services: AWS, GCP, Azure 
    • Experience implementing information security principles and risk assessment techniques 
    • Experience completing tasks and deliverables with minimal supervisory oversight 
    • Experience with a vulnerability management program 
    • Proficiency in one or more of the following areas: system administration, cloud administration, systems engineering, security operations, automation, cybersecurity audit. 

    The successful candidate for this position will be subject to a pre-employment background check. 

    Pay Range: $110,000- $130,000
