Horse Rider/Exerciser rides racehorses to exercise and condition them for racing. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and at least 7 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Part-time Weekend MORNING barn help at private facility. Experience with horses is mandatory as there are young horses and stallions. This position is for weekend mornings, for about 3-3.5 hours starting around 0700am (hours are somewhat flexible depending on your availability). Currently there are 8 horses, this position is for farm and horse care help only- not riding.
Depending on your skills more work may be available.
Daily duties: Water, feed, barn swept. Bring horses in/out of pastures/paddocks, cleaning stalls. Other basic barn chores ie: clean troughs/buckets, cobwebbing tidying up.
This job requires you to be able to lift 50 lbs. You must be reliable and have reliable transportation. Advanced warning for days off is essential except for the rare emergency.
