Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of architectural career and workforce processes, policies, and regulations in the United States, especially as outlined by AIA’s policies and positions guide.
- Considerable knowledge of practice issues in architecture including a grasp of new and emerging issues and topics, related to internship, licensure, leadership, and practice issues spanning the full career spectrum.
- Proficient written/oral communication, research, analysis, and organizational skills as well as superior customer service are required.
- Demonstrated experience as a subject-matter expert who provides assistance, research, and advice to professionals.
- Demonstrated skills in team building, supports direct reports professional development, team problem solving, conflict resolution, system and process development, broad project management skills, and balancing multiple short-term and long-term priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is preferred. Capability to effectively use Call for Proposals software such as, Cadmium or Openwater, social media platforms, and virtual volunteer networks is a benefit.
- Experience with program and events development and vendor management. Not required but preferred.
Advanced Degree in Education, Psychology, Social Sciences, Architecture, Engineering, Business, or related field is desirable. Knowledge of the architectural and/or design industry within a membership organization is a plus.

All AIA employees in the DC metro area are currently working remotely during our office renovation. Employees in the DC Metro area will return to a hybrid work environment in the newly renovated office at the completion of the renovation in Spring 2025.
