Health Value Analyst analyzes product research and clinical outcomes data, and prepares financial analyses to ensure that hospital supply management activities optimize the delivery of cost-effective, quality healthcare. Determines the clinical and financial impact of adding new products and technologies to the hospital product line. Being a Health Value Analyst evaluates prospective technologies that may significantly impact revenue and support strategic planning. May require a bachelor's degree of specialty. Additionally, Health Value Analyst typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Health Value Analyst contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. The Application Analyst maintains membership on, or consultation to, appropriate committees, work groups or task forces as needed to facilitate the ongoing process of the design, implementation and revision of automated and manual components of the clinical and financial information systems. The analyst conducts meetings and presentations effectively and professionally. He/She maintains a broad knowledge of hardware, operating systems, applications, operational analysis and protocols, works closely with IT Mgmt and Operational Leadership on coordination and evaluation of projects within the department and organization-wide, provides leadership and guidance to application analysts, and participates in interviewing and hiring new employees in clinical informatics.Works on or may lead highly complex projects of large scope which may have significant and long-term impact. Essential Job Functions: Ensures that all enhancement requests are being appropriately and adequately addressed in a timely fashion, utilizing resources as necessary. May be tasked with education/training of application analyst staff in supporting the enhancements long term. Assists and supports system implementations and the coordination of system enhancements by educating and updating those who handle the training of information systems to existing and new employees. Provides leadership and guidance to applications staff. Takes responsibility for the problems reported and sees that a fix is provided to which the customer is kept informed and agrees. Coordinates and escalates with senior staff as appropriate to ensure that customer issues are resolved in a timely fashion. Provide support to the installation and implementation of system patches and version upgrades as assigned; participate as a team member on process improvement efforts as driven by Financial and Clinical Stakeholders. Consult with management to determine project objectives with long-term implications. Mentor individuals to affect improvement and be viewed as a subject matter expert. Provide technical support, diagnosis of application errors and troubleshooting with system issues. Reviews and completes new build enhancements as appropriate, coordinating and building consensus with operational owners. Develops solutions to complex problems which require the use of ingenuity and creativity. Performs proactively and prevents recurrence whenever possible. Participates in cross application testing with system changes, ensuring that the system changes are compatible with other applications workflow and processes. Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
