Conducts needs assessments and keeps up-to-date on changes in health care technology to keep program material current. Being a Health Educator develops, coordinates, and disseminates educational resources and materials. May provide health education outreach and consultation. Additionally, Health Educator requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Health Educator work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     We are looking for a Clinical Educator for our School of Radiology. As a Clinical Educator for the School of Radiology at CHI St. Vincent, you will conduct a clinical competency based educational program for students in the School of Radiologic Technology in accordance with JRCERT standards.

    Responsibilities
    • Ensures that communication supports the plan of patient care.  Support/enforce the rules and regulations of the School of Radiologic Technology.
    • Attends monthly faculty meetings and gives constructive feedback for maintaining communication between the school and the Radiology Department.
    • Is available to students for counseling or assistance with particular didactic courses.
    • Supports and enforces the Rules & Regulations of the School of Radiologic Technology.
    • Provides education for students, patients, self and others appropriate for the age that is being served.  Correlates clinical education with the didactic component.
    • Instructs, coordinates and evaluates the effectiveness of the student’s clinical education.
    • Provides clinical supervision for student Radiographers.
    • Utilizes a variety of teaching methods appropriate for the targeted domain of learning.

    Qualifications
    • Baccalaureate degree or enrolled in continuing education programs of that professional discipline as required by the JRCERT accreditation program. 
    • Minimum of two (2) years practical experience in the professional discipline.  
    • Minimum of one (1) year experience as an instructor in a JRCERT accredited program. 
    • Proficient in supervision, counseling, evaluation and curriculum development for students in the School of Radiologic Technology.
