Health and Safety Administrator jobs in Louisiana

Health and Safety Administrator is responsible for identifying hazardous workplace conditions. Takes samples and measurements of hazardous materials, and coordinates the removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards. Being a Health and Safety Administrator trains employees on safety, company policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to employee safety. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations and ensures necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines. Additionally, Health and Safety Administrator participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor. To be a Health and Safety Administrator typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.     • Planning, directing and evaluating operations to ensure the provision of adequate and appropriate care and services.
    • Complying with applicable law and regulation.
    • Assuring that all business conduct is above minimum standards required by law and will not condone any activities that achieve results through violation of the law, unethical business or patient care practices.
    • Fiscal planning, budgeting, and management of operations in accordance with fiscal parameters.
    • Implementing governing body directives, processes, and policies.
    • Recruiting, employing and retaining qualified personnel to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
    • Obtaining approval from Regional Director(s) of Operations and VP of Operations for all employee changes and/or new hires.
    • Establishing and maintaining effective channels of communication.
    • Ensuring program personnel have current clinical information and current practices ensuring that a clinical manager is available during all operating hours.
    • Directing and monitoring organizational performance improvement activities in conjunction with QAPI personnel.
    • Ensuring staff development including orientation, inservice education, continuing education, and evaluation of staff.
    • Assuring that skilled nursing and other therapeutic services furnished are under the supervision and direction of a physician or registered nurse.
    • Assuring appropriate staff supervision during all operating hours.

    • Assuring the development and qualifications for professional services and the assignment of personnel.
    • Ensuring the accuracy of public information materials and activities.
    • Appointing a similarly qualified alternate to be available at all times during operating hours in the absence of the Administrator.
    • Informing the governing body, and staff of current organizational, community, and industry trends.
    • The administrator shall be administratively responsible and available in person or by telecommunication at all times for all aspects of facility operation.

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

    • The administrator shall have three years of management experience in the delivery of health care service and meet one of the following criteria:
    • is a licensed physician; or
    • is an RN; or
    • is employed as an administrator on or after January 13, 2018, and is a college graduate with a bachelor's degree; or
    • is employed as an administrator prior to January 13, 2018, and has had three additional years of documented experience in health care delivery service; or
    • is an administrator who has experience in health service administration with at least one year of supervisory or administrative experience related to home health care or a home health care program.
    • Demonstrated an ability to supervise and direct personnel and administrative personnel .
    • Ability to market aggressively and deal tactfully with the community.
    • Knowledge of corporate business management.
    • Demonstrates good communications and public relations skills.
