Head Nurse jobs in Arkansas
Head Nurse plans and implements the overall nursing policies, procedures, and services for a unit. Maintains nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training clinical staff. Being a Head Nurse ensures that nurses are current in competencies, assessments, licensure, certifications, and other annual training. May provide direct patient care and is responsible for assessing, planning, and evaluating patients. Additionally, Head Nurse requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Nurse typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Job Type: Part-Time
Schedule: 4-Day Work Week
Hours: 5 hrs daily Monday-Thursday. At least 20hrs a week or more if needed.
Education Requirements: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum Education: Infant/Toddler CDA
Location: Northwest Arkansas Early Head Start in Bentonville, AR
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist with planning and implementing the daily activities of the Head Start classroom (children 3-5 years of age) and the Early Head Start classroom (children 6 weeks to 3yrs) in a variety of activities to develop social, motor and academic skills.
