Grinding and Polishing Worker, Hand sets-up and operates automatic machines that cut, grind, or polish glass products such as glass tubes or glassware. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Being a Grinding and Polishing Worker, Hand may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Grinding and Polishing Worker, Hand relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. Payne Custom Concrete Polishing is looking for motivated, responsible, and team-oriented person(s) to join our team. You will be responsible for operating hand grinders, and machinery necessary to polish concrete floors and apply epoxy and other coatings. Physical strength and endurance are required. If you are a hands-on worker who likes to stay busy throughout the day, look no further. Experience is a bonus, but not required. We will happily train the right candidate.
Some of the duties you can expect:
- Operate high-quality machinery and tooling (power trowel, grinders, burnishers, floor scrubbers)
- Operate hand grinders and other small tools
- Assist with setup, production, and cleanup of the project
- Concrete repairs, joint filler, and other applications
- Occasional travel, weekend, and overnight flexibility
- Must have a valid drivers license. Experience towing a trailer is ideal, but not required
- Must be detail-oriented, read and follow specified plans and directions
- MUST abide by state and federal laws, and contractor safety guidelines, and present yourself in a respectful and professional manner
This position is full-time and requires some flexibility to work nights/weekends and travel out of state. We do not travel for long periods. Most of our jobs are local to the Raleigh-Durham area.
