Geologist researches the formation, dissolution, and content of rock layers. Researches the effects of internal pressures, heat, water, pollution, and erosion. Being a Geologist studies variations in rock formations and densities to identify new mineral deposits. Estimates depth, quality and vastness of deposits. Additionally, Geologist tests mineral quality and purity to determine feasibility of mining. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. - 5 years of geological experience, Alaska area preferred
- Experience with large civil works project
- Knowledge of soils and geological components for construction of barrier wall embankments
- Familiar with US Army Corps of Engineers’ processes, preferred
- US Army Corp of Engineering or other federal project experience, preferred
- Experience with Resident Management System (RMS), preferred
