Genetics Counselor provides genetic counseling and education to individuals and families at risk for hereditary disorders. Obtains and analyzes family medical history to identify patients at risk for specific disorders or syndromes. Being a Genetics Counselor recommends genetic testing as warranted and counsels patients on test results, treatment and alternative coping methods. May provide crisis intervention as needed. Additionally, Genetics Counselor requires a master's degree of Genetic Counseling. Typically reports to a manager or director. The Senior Accountant will oversee the company's accounting operations and financial reporting.
Job responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory accounting, and month/year-end close processes
• Monitor and analyze accounting data, prepare financial statements, and produce other financial reports for management
• Establish, implement, and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, principles, and internal controls in accordance with GAAP and relevant laws/regulations
• Oversee cash management, including cash flow projections, wire transfers, investments, and banking relationships
• Work closely with external accounting resources to design and build the future state accounting function
• Coordinate and prepare for annual external audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing any issues identified
• Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts - analyzing variances and recommending corrective actions as needed
• Maintain documented accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Continuously improve accounting systems, processes, and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Exhibit a commitment to information security and confidentiality

Qualifications and Skills:
• Strong technical accounting skills
• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month end/year end close process
• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks preferred) and Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work closely with senior executives and cross-functional teams
Education, Experience and Licensing Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA or CMA certification preferred
• 5 years of accounting experience
