Folder Operator jobs in Michigan

We are seeking an experienced Folder/Gluer Operator to join our team based in Sturgis, MI. The Folder/Gluer Operator will be responsible for the performance of manual and machine tasks in the set up, maintenance, and operation of folder/gluer equipment to accurately produce product to customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strong knowledge and understanding of folder/gluer processes and equipment.
• Read job tickets to determine setup specifications and instructions.
• Capable of performing machine make-ready on a multitude of various carton styles including but not limited to GSE, Auto Bottom, 4-corner, 6-corner, various trays and sleeves.
• Observe and monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and to determine whether adjustments are needed and be able to clear the production line and jams efficiently.
• Follow all standard operating procedures and instructions relevant to the job, position and department accurately.
• Perform routine adjustments during the folder/gluer run and maintain production throughout the run monitoring efficiency and quality of glued product.
• Perform all assigned work effectively and on schedule.
• Record daily production information using data collection.
• Responsible for setup and approval of case labels and all specific production paperwork associated with each job and client specification.
• Capable of training workers for various positions on the glue line.
• Ensures operation of folder/gluer and related equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements according to operation manuals, manufacturer’s instructions and established preventative maintenance schedules.
• Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory levels and anticipating needed equipment, parts and supplies.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by comply with Company Safety rules, procedures and regulations.
• Experience with Leery Glue, Glue Detection and Barcode Scanning Systems a plus

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have previous folder/gluer experience.
• Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as job tickets, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Must have the ability to perform basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with other employees and management.
• Must be able to maintain good attendance and be willing to work overtime as needed.
• Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation
