Fleet Manager manages the acquisition, operations, and maintenance of the organization's fleet of motor vehicles. Oversees scheduling and dispatch operations for vehicles and drivers. Being a Fleet Manager evaluates, purchases, leases, and disposes of vehicles to maintain the fleet. Develops and maintains vendor and service provider relationships for fuel, maintenance, and other essential services. Additionally, Fleet Manager administers insurance policy coverage, negotiates agreements, and participates in claim resolution. Develops and implements safety, preventive maintenance, and accident prevention programs. Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and fleet-specific regulations, licensing, registration, and reporting requirements. Manages the fleet expense reporting and budgets. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Fleet Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Fleet Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. ACCOUNT MANAGER/FLEET SERVICES MANAGER - INDEPENDENCE, OH (ON-SITE)JOB SUMMARY
The Fleet Services Manager (FSM) is responsible for performing after-market duties for Fleet Team major accounts and provides day-to-day support to assigned clients. The FSM collaborates with the Strategic Consultant and serves as a main point of contact for client-related projects. Their day-to-day responsibilities include management and administration of tasks related to customer inquiries, projects, problem resolution, etc. in addition to acting as a liaison between Fleet Team support staff, contractors, and the customer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Operates as a point of contact for all matters specific to assigned Fleet Team clients.
- Provides proposals and quotes as requested by the client or Strategic Consultant including, but not limited to: allied equipment, batteries and chargers, sweepers and scrubbers, and operator access devices (i.e., Keytroller, Gem House, iWarehouse, etc.).
- Quotes service repair work, maintenance programs, and fleet management extensions.
- Manages the addition and removal of client assets to various maintenance programs.
- Processes day-to-day customer inquiries and requests, reviewing with the Strategic Consultant when necessary.
- Prepares various client-specific reports specific showing pertinent metrics and reviewing with the client as needed.
- Works with internal team members, local dealers, and manufacturers to manage maintenance program profitability.
- Performs on-site application surveys and reviewing results with client and Strategic Consultant.
- Holds client meetings and maintenance program reviews, both in-person and via web conference at least quarterly.
- Makes recommendations to clients to support safety, financial, and client specified objectives.
- Interacts with local supporting dealers on aftermarket and product support issues.
- Sets up planned maintenance and service agreements with dealers.
- Manages special projects and schedules tasks, coordinating with various team members to accomplish the results.
- Arranges rental trucks with local suppliers on an as-need basis for Fleet Team clients.
- Prepares and maintains cost down analysis report for major corporate accounts as requested, ensuring data is accurate and up-to-date.
- Generates high level reports along with custom reporting for clients.
- Assists clients with interpreting repair descriptions on service provider invoices and work orders.
- Helps coordinate product demos in conjunction with local service providers.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION- High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE- 2-4 years of experience in a business/customer service environment.
- 1-3 years of project/account management experience.
- Experience in the material handling industry or specific client industry preferred.
- Previous experience with Salesforce preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS- Ability to work independently and to effectively prioritize demands and execute tasks.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey information to internal and external customers in a clear and concise manner.
