YOUR NEW ROLE

Role Type: Full-time, Temporary (12 months)

The Export Finance Lending Manager is a critical role to ensure the overall performance of the Small Business lending channel, and delivery of the relevant customer growth objectives for this channel. Proactively driving conversion and improved customer experience are key functions of this role, which involves responsibility for converting opportunities for the Small Business lending channel into signed customers. This includes owning and proactively driving applications and submissions, ensuring customers progress through the application process and delivering the overall performance of the Small Business Lending pipeline.

Ownership and accountability for managing lending opportunities and referrals from Marketing or Mid-Market suitable for the SBL product/Small Business channel, and actively driving these to signing. This will also require establishing and leveraging relationships with internal partners.

• Maximise opportunities for the Small Business channel by actively driving and managing the progress of referrals and pre-qualified inbound enquiries, including screening suitable applications and guiding customers through each step of the online SBEL application process.
• Actively drive progress of customers through the application process to optimise conversion.
• Review applications and prepare the submission for pre-screen and credit analysis including obtaining additional information or documents as required, whilst thoroughly understanding the customer’s business and its needs, and proactively suggesting suitable options for consideration.
• Utilise credit and finance knowledge to work collaboratively with Credit Risk team and other internal partners to optimise approvals.
• Manage day-to-day relationship with CSC and requests for KYC/AML compliance.
• Manage the pipeline velocity for the SBL product/Small Business channel to lift conversion and provide management insights.
• Maintain up-to-date opportunity and customer information in EXFOS CRM system.
• Meticulous approach to data entry and records management to maintain customer pipeline data in the EXFOS CRM, ensuring system/reporting accuracy, capturing new data as required, and updating existing information.
• Track customer growth/sales metrics, such as Small Business pipeline, decision outcomes, conversion rates, customer numbers, facility values, turnaround times, and repeat business metrics. Provide regular reports on customer growth, Small Business sales metrics, and overall performance.
• Proactively identify customers who have growth aspirations in the market and have outgrown the SBEL offer/Small Business channel and refer them to the Mid-Market channel as suitable.

ABOUT YOU

Previous experience in business lending, with minimum 5 years’ experience in customer success or business development, preferably within financial services. Proven experience in managing business or other lending applications with customers is ideal.

• A sound knowledge of credit principles and understanding of business lending is preferred. Must be able to screen potential loans and discuss pro-actively with credit as needed.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, driving business outcomes including conversion, satisfaction, loyalty and advocacy.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage, negotiate and be resilient with a range of internal partner teams, and business customers on the phone.
• Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills in building engagement and confidence with a broad range of stakeholders.
• Superior attention to detail, proactivity, time management and organisation skills.
• Strong critical thinking and sound decision-making skills in being able to make sense of complex data and information to solve problems as well as articulate a transaction to credit teams and influence the approval outcome.
