Finance Manager manages the daily financial activities and functions for an organization including accounting, budget, credit, insurance, tax, and treasury. Ensures all financial operations are in compliance with governmental rules and regulations. Being a Finance Manager forecasts and manages a cash flow that meets the needs of the company. Provides guidance to managers in financial reporting objectives and standards to ensure accurate, compliant and useful financial reporting is produced. Additionally, Finance Manager oversees the budget process and works with managers to produce and manage effective budgets. Acts as an advisor to management on regulations and other matters that may impact the financial activities of the company, engaging with outside consultants if applicable. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a senior manager or director. The Finance Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. OVERVIEW
This dynamic position works within a team environment to provide Alaskan’s access to safe, quality, affordable housing. Must demonstrate a strong ability to assess and evaluate problems, determine priorities amid multiple projects related to AHFC Public Housing standards, and understand basic accounting principles . Must have demonstrated skills in lease enforcement and strong written and verbal communication skills, and must be a team players who can occasionally work flexible hours.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: Non-exempt, non-supervisory position.
Examples of Duties
This position is responsible for working on a team with the senior Property Manager in the management of affordable housing, and includes the following duties:
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED and three years experience in office practices or property management, or a combination of three years of experience in office practices and property management. Property management experience is preferred. Office experience must include clerical duties such as typing, filing, copying and computer experience (Word and Excel preferred).
Must have valid Alaska Drivers license (or be able to obtain one within 5 calendar days of beginning employment) and show proof of good driving record, when requested.
Substitution: Related business college courses or degree may be substituted for required experience on a year for year basis.
This is a level 16 position with an annual salary of $ 53,960.33 (26 pay periods). Excellent benefits package.
