**Job Summary:**
An Operable Wall Technician Apprentice is an entry-level position where individuals learn the skills necessary to work with operable walls—movable partitions used to create flexible spaces within buildings.
Key responsibilities and duties associated with this role:
Assisting Senior Technicians:
- Work alongside experienced operable wall technicians to gain practical knowledge.
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of operable walls.
- Learn about safety protocols and best practices.
Installation and Repairs:
- Participate in the assembly and installation of operable walls.
- Help ensure proper alignment, stability, and functionality.
- Assist in diagnosing and fixing issues related to operable walls.
Learning and Training:
- Attend classroom sessions to learn about operable wall systems, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Study schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Gain hands-on experience under supervision.
Safety and Compliance:
- Follow safety guidelines during all tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed.
Customer Interaction:
- Interact with clients and end-users during installations and repairs.
- Provide basic information about operable walls and their usage.
Tool Familiarization:
- Learn to use tools and equipment specific to operable wall installation and maintenance.

Education and Background:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Basic Math and Communication Skills: Proficiency in math and communication is essential for understanding technical instructions and interacting with team members and clients.
Technical Aptitude:
- Mechanical Skills: An understanding of basic mechanical principles is beneficial. Apprentices will work with tools, equipment, and mechanical systems related to operable walls.
- Blueprint Reading: Familiarity with reading blueprints and technical drawings is advantageous.
Physical Fitness:
- Operable wall installation and maintenance involves physical work. Apprentices should be in good physical condition to handle lifting, climbing, and other physical tasks.
Safety Awareness:
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures is crucial. Apprentices must follow safety guidelines during installations and repairs.
Attention to Detail:
- Operable walls require precise installation and adjustments. Apprentices should pay attention to details and follow instructions accurately.

Pay: $15.00 - $21.00 per hour
