Field Operator jobs in Mississippi

Garry Makamson Farms, a third-generation family owned farm located in Morgan City, Mississippi is seeking a full-time Crop and Field Operator who is motivated, eager to learn, and driven to work hard! We are a large row crop operation, farming primarily sesame, wheat, cotton, corn, and soybeans.

This position is full-time, seasonal (beginning as soon as possible), with the potential of continued employment based on the needs of the operation following fall harvest.

The Field Operator is responsible for daily farm operations including but not limited to driving farm equipment, maintenance support of farm equipment, maintaining the appearance of the farm, and assisting the Operations Manager in achieving farm goals.

REQUIREMENTS:

· High school diploma or equivalent

· 2 years’ experience working on row crop farming operation, required.

· Experience in working with farm equipment, specifically John Deere Tractors is desired

· Experience with the safe operation of farm equipment is required

· Basic Mechanical knowledge and hands on experience is preferred.

· Some experience with farm equipment technology is preferred, specifically working with an iPad applications.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

Experience:

• Row Crop Farming: 2 years (Required)
• farm equipment/John Deere Tractors: 1 year (Preferred)
• basic mechanical: 1 year (Preferred)
