Job Description
The Powder Coating Manager is responsible for leading the powder coating team, overseeing the scheduling, production, and quality control of powder coated products. This role requires a proactive individual with experience in powder coating operations and team supervision to ensure timely and efficient delivery of services to our customers.
Role and Responsibilities
Team Leadership:
o Direct work assignments for powder coating technicians, hangers and packers.
o Provide leadership, training, and development opportunities for team members.
o Identify and implement cross training programs to fill skill gaps.
Production Coordination:
o Manage powder coating schedules and sequences.
o Collaborate with inventory and production supervisors to streamline material flow.
o Close production orders, manage project schedules, and oversee inventory.
Quality Control & Continuous Improvement:
o Drive continuous improvement activities in material flow, organization, standardization, quality, safety, and delivery.
o Identify opportunities to reduce cycle times and improve efficiency.
Operational Efficiency:
o Reduce delays impacting production and delivery.
o Promote a safe and healthy work environment.
o Encourage team innovation and process improvement.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Job Requirements:
o Minimum of 3 years’ experience in powder coating or a related field.
o At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
o Proven ability to lead and develop a team.
o Strong understanding of powder coating processes and quality control standards.
o Experience in continuous improvement methodologies.
o Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
o Ability to sit, stand and move about the facility.
