Overview:
Reed Charters LLC is actively recruiting for an Exercise Planner to join our consultant team based in Honolulu, Hawaii. You will play a crucial role in providing technical support for all official exercise activities for the design, planning, preparation, execution, and evaluation of joint, command, and Service level exercises with the purpose to rehearse plan-based tasks and train operational commanders and staffs.
Work Location
The Exercise Planner will be located at our worksite in Honolulu, Hawaii. Occasional travel may be required (<25%).
Position Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Serve as an acting senior controller, request for information manager, or master scenario events list manager, as examples, to support the execution of an official exercise.
- Provide assigned exercise information such as announcements and tasking documents and maintain assigned level of effort and product development to ensure no missed milestones within the Joint Exercise Life Cycle
- Support multiple operational planning teams (OPT) and integrated planning teams (IPT) required to work through the myriad issues in managing each exercise life cycle (ELC)
- Provide weekly updates to the exercise rolling document and approved systems of record for sourcing force packages
- Support the development and maintenance of the official exercise common operating tool
- Develop and manage the master scenario events list for exercises and integrate the information into an approved synchronization tool.
- Manage activity tracking of security cooperation with partner nations in official system(s) of record
- Develop documents that capture the roles of agencies and offices at local, national, or international level to enhance the training opportunity for participating units
- Develop and maintain a framework model to enable adaptation for unscheduled emerging mission requirements
- Provide technical assistance in the execution of joint and combined training and exercise events, interoperability workshops, tabletop exercises, and senior leader seminars
- Prepare after action and lessons learned reports to capture key elements of an assigned exercise
- Assess exercise events through observation and develop recommendations for sustained future operations
- Produce meeting minutes and trip reports
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance
- Advanced proficiency with groupware applications (i.e., SharePoint, MS Teams) and the Microsoft Office suite (i.e., MS Word, Power Point, Excel, etc.)
- Advanced proficiency in written and verbal communication
- Possess thorough knowledge of Marine Forces operations in official plans and exercise scenarios in the Pacific
