Estimating Manager manages the estimating function and develops standards, procedures, tools, and methodologies to produce cost estimates for technical projects based on work scope, specifications, and proposal or contract requirements. Establishes processes to perform analysis of project requirements, plans, and specifications to identify labor, material, equipment, and service requirements. Being an Estimating Manager incorporates benchmark data, trends, and historical pricing to generate detailed cost estimates that consist of itemized lists of expenses, labor hours, material quantities, and potential cost variations. Implements a workflow and system for scheduling and processing estimate requests and communicating with stakeholders. Additionally, Estimating Manager depending on the complexity and type of project, may use different estimating methods, mathematical models, or specialized estimating software tools to generate estimates. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Estimating Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Total Environmental Concepts, Inc., one of the top environmental companies in Maryland, DC and Virginia, has a current opening for an Estimating Manager. This position will play a vital role in the continued growth and operation of the company and handle a multitude of challenging and critical tasks.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing Senior Estimator related duties on a professional level and works closely with the TEC’s Senior management in supporting its various offices and its subsidiary. The Estimating Manager will prepare detailed construction cost estimates and analyze documents to develop accurate and detailed project estimates using specific procedures, as well as other duties as assigned.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment with some travel to job sites to complete bid/proposal work onsite in meetings. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and other office machines or equipment.

The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an office employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employee will occasionally be required to travel to potential job sites and must be able to sit, stand and carry laptop and documents for meetings.
Position Type/Days & Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday thru Friday generally from 9am to 5pm. Hours may fluctuate depending on bid/proposal meetings and deadlines
