Estate Planning Director jobs in Vermont

Estate Planning Director directs all aspects of the estate planning function including sales, staffing, and supervision. Participates in training and estate planning workshops. Being an Estate Planning Director ensures that the agency stays abreast of regulatory guidelines and new trends in the field. Researches and advises on tax, technical, and legal questions. Additionally, Estate Planning Director introduces new life products to the field and contributes to design of related software and tools. May be a speaker at insurance conferences or meetings. Requires a bachelor's degree of business, marketing, or mathematics. Typically reports to top management. May require Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU). The Estate Planning Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be an Estate Planning Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.   • Overview

    Provides strategic planning and policy direction for the Department for Children and Families and its 6 programmatic divisions and 3 support divisions. Interfaces with members of the legislature, leaders and program staff across the Department and the Agency Of Human Services and external constituencies with respect to the public policy, regulatory and operational effectiveness of the Department for Children and Families. Recommends and coordinates decisions when it requires the agreement of other senior managers, other stakeholders or legislative representatives both internally and externally. Lead and/or participate in Department and Agency wide initiatives or special projects, establish objectives, standards and control measures for programs, and development and leadership of community stakeholder groups. Work is performed under the direction of the DCF Director of Operations.

    Environmental Factors

    Duties are performed in a standard office setting with some travel to other state offices or community locations for which private means of transportation must be available. Limited state travel may be involved for which private means of transportation may be required. Quick deadlines for important reports and need for sensitive communication under challenging and difficult situations may be required. Interacts and communicate directly with senior Department and Agency leaders, state government administrators, staff, and constituents. Must manage many complex administrative and policy related issues at once, including intense interactions with a variety of constituents and deadline pressures.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Master's degree AND three (3) years or more at a professional level in the field of public policy, governmental relations or public relations.

    OR

    Bachelor's degree AND five (5) years or more at a professional level in the field of public policy, governmental relations or public relations.
