    Environmental Permitting Specialist

    The Environmental Permitting Specialist will be responsible for project permits for zoning, municipal site, and subdivision, State permits (NRPA, sand dunes, and stormwater), as well as Federal wetland and dredge permits. The ideal candidate will be skilled in technical writing and be highly organized. The Environmental Permitting Specialist will be working with an in-house team to streamline the permitting process, as well as interact with clients and government officials. This is an opportunity to impact projects from design through construction.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Deliver high-quality projects and service to clients
    • Organize and draft Environmental Permit submissions and coordinate the approval process
    • Maintain in-process timeline for project permitting
    • Develop and foster positive working relationships with State, Federal, and Local officials
    • Research and stay current on trending regulatory changes and environmental practices

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or other similar field of study
    • Experience with municipal site plan and subdivision approval
    • Experience with Maine DEP permitting included Site Location of Development, NRPA, Stormwater, and Shoreland Zoning
    • Experience with Army Corps Of Engineers wetland and dredge permitting
    • Ability to coordinate with project managers on all project details
    • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing demands and priorities
    • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment while multi-tasking
    • Strong communication and organizational skills
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications
