The Environmental Engineer role is responsible for providing environmental management support to enterprise Ergon facilities. This role evaluates the applicability of federal, state, and local environmental regulations to company operations and ensures compliance with those regulations at both the corporate and facility levels.

Environmental Engineer Job Duties:

• Complete environmental permitting and compliance documentation on behalf of enterprise facilities
• Communicate with personnel concerning environmental impacts facility projects
• Inspect industrial facilities and programs to ensure compliance with environmental regulations
• Interface with business units to resolve environmental or regulatory issues
• Understand facility operations and how they relate to environmental compliance
• Maintain proper organization and filing of environmental records for each respective facility
• Oversee incident management using incident command system methods
• Consult with external response and local, state, or Federal regulatory authorities on hazard prevention, risk mitigation, emergency response and business continuity

Environmental Engineer Requirements:

• Appropriate candidates to fill this role will have a bachelor's degree in engineering or a scientific field and 3 to 7 years of industry or environmental experience.
