Env., Health, and Safety Engineer implements and maintains company policies adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations. Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly. Being an Env., Health, and Safety Engineer is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating environmental policy and procedure manuals. Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Additionally, Env., Health, and Safety Engineer serves as contact with all federal, state, and local regulatory bodies. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor. To be an Env., Health, and Safety Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     POSITION SUMMARY

    The Manager of Environmental Services/Housekeeping provides oversight of the Environment
    Services/Housekeeping department. The Manager will provide assistance to the Director of Environmental
    Services/Housekeeping with implementing and sustaining a fiscally responsible and measurably effective,
    housekeeping and linen program across the hospital. The manager is expected to be a key part of a leadership
    team that produces a clean, hygienic, and safe environment that is patient-centered, sustainable (i.e. employs
    "green cleaning" and integrated pest management), aligned with customer demands, and yields great results
    measured by patient satisfaction scores and internal key performance indicators within the approved
    budget. Responsible for maintaining compliance with policies and procedures, and applicable Federal and District
    regulations to include, but not limited to EPA, DDOE, DOH and OSHA


    Qualifications

    Education/Qualification
    * Bachelor's Degree or commensurate experience required
    * At least two years (2) of leadership experience; leadership in an Environmental Services leadership position preferred
    * Previous experience in a hospital environment preferred
    * Experience working in a union environment is preferred
    * Experience using LEAN or other similar performance improvement methods to transform operations preferred
    * Must complete GWUH Hazardous Materials Training for Generators within 60 Days of hire
