Elevator Inspector inspects, adjusts, and maintains installed freight and passenger elevators and escalators to meet specifications and safety codes. May recommend repairs. Being an Elevator Inspector requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. May be required to be certified in an area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Additionally, Elevator Inspector is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.     Position Overview:
    The Elevator Technician position consists of performing field service work on all types of elevators, VRCs, and Rack and Pinion utilizing methods and procedures considered proper within the industry.  A technician is expected to be an authority on most technical aspects of the elevator industry.
     
    Job Duties and Responsibilities:
    1. Onsite representation of the company in an expert and professional manner.
    2. Demonstrate expert knowledge in Electrical/Mechanical/Structural /Application/Estimation.
    3. Demonstrate the ability to supervise varied number of personnel.
    4. Demonstrate the desire to make decisions/supervise work in the best interest of company.
    5. Demonstrate the desire to work as a team member at any level required to complete job.
    6. Assist the company in maintaining proper appearance, conduct, productivity.
    7. Acquire and maintain tooling needed to perform previous listed technical requirements in a superlative manner.
    8. Demonstrate the desire to work in a safety and healthy manner.
     
    Required Qualifications:
    1. Must have 4 years’ experience in the elevator industry or equivalent
    2. Possess or be eligible to get a CET or NEIEP elevator mechanic's certificate
    3. Possess or be eligible to get a TWIC card
    4. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and sit or stand for long periods of time
    5. Strong communication skills, written and verbal
    6. Computer proficient
    7. Exceptional customer service skills
    8. Must be able to pass Drug/alcohol screening and background check
