ESTIMATOR – UTILITY ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION

O'Connell Electric's Estimators are responsible for producing comprehensive estimates for utility, commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. Your primary responsibility will be to accurately assess project requirements, evaluate costs, and provide competitive bids to secure projects. Estimators collaborate closely with project managers and other electrical construction professionals to develop accurate and timely estimates and support the development of complete project proposals.

Core Responsibilities:

• Review project plans, specifications, and blueprints to gain a comprehensive understanding of electrical
• Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and potential challenges as
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to determine project scope and objectives.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor
• Utilize estimating software and tools to ensure accurate and competitive
• Consider factors such as permits, inspections, and potential change orders when calculating project
• Solicit quotes from suppliers and subcontractors and negotiate pricing
• Prepare detailed and persuasive proposals for clients, highlighting the value and competitiveness of the company's
• Present proposals to clients and participate in post-bid interviews to secure
• Identify potential risks and challenges related to electrical construction projects and propose mitigation
• Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact project
• Maintain accurate records of all estimates, proposals, and project-related
• Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure successful project

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering or construction management, or trade experience is preferred but not always
• At least three years of experience estimating or other relevant experience in closing construction estimates.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and
• Excellent analytical and mathematical
• Effective communication and negotiation

• Ability to work independently and as part of a
• Familiarity with industry trends, market conditions, and cost-saving
• Ability to independently estimate an electrical project valued at $100,000 .

Compensation

The minimum and maximum annual salary (or hourly rates) that O'Connell Electric Company believes in good faith to be accurate for this position at the time of this posting is $55,000 - $80,000 per year.
