EEG Technician performs electroencephalograms in accordance with established practices and procedures. Attaches electrodes to the patient. Being an EEG Technician records impulse frequencies and differences in electrical potential between various areas of the brain to obtain data for use in the diagnosis of brain disorders. Provides preliminary diagnostic evaluation and notifies neurologist of results of examinations. Additionally, EEG Technician consults with neurologist to establish requirements for non-standard examinations and determines technical factors to satisfy requirements. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The EEG Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be an EEG Technician typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

The Neurodiagnostic Technologist/ Neuro EEG Tech will work within our Neurology Dept. which offers a full range of specialized, comprehensive services ranging from neuro-intensive care to outpatient consultations for people with conditions such as stroke, headache, epilepsy, movement disorders, memory disorders, Alzheimer’s disease, sleep disorders and neuromuscular problems. The Neuro EEG Tech performs electroencephalograms (EEG) to facilitate the diagnosis and treatment of cerebral impairment.
