EEG Technician jobs in Delaware
EEG Technician performs electroencephalograms in accordance with established practices and procedures. Attaches electrodes to the patient. Being an EEG Technician records impulse frequencies and differences in electrical potential between various areas of the brain to obtain data for use in the diagnosis of brain disorders. Provides preliminary diagnostic evaluation and notifies neurologist of results of examinations. Additionally, EEG Technician consults with neurologist to establish requirements for non-standard examinations and determines technical factors to satisfy requirements. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The EEG Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be an EEG Technician typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

- Ability to learn and perform basic troubleshooting on EEG recordings including electrode hookups and basic machine issues.
- Able to be trained in EPIC functions in relation to EEG lab
- Able to be trained in evaluation and analyzing scalp video-EEG studies
- Additional duties and responsibilities within the EEG lab, as may be assigned on occasion by associate's supervisor or lead tech.
- Educates the patient and family regarding their EMU monitoring procedures, interacting according to patient's' level of understanding
Good communication with other EEG techs and Manager to ask for help and express comfort levels of the job.Qualifications-
