    General Job Description

    • Initiate, lead, and uphold policies, practices, and procedures of the company
    • Maintain clean and safe work environment
    • Follow all company and OSHA safety policies and procedures
    • Enforce all company and OSHA safety policies and procedures to all employees
    • Coordinate and prepare weekly safety meetings with all employees
    • Ensure monthly safety checklist is completed by either yourself or an assigned employee
    • Maintain a positive and professional manner in all interactions, whether with employees or customers
    • Work with executive management to determine company goals and objectives for you to meet over the year
    • Oversee and work directly with all location staff, including Yard Foreman, Field Foreman, Mechanics, Salesman, Scale Operators, Office Staff, Yard Technician/Non-ferrous Sorter, and CDL Truck Drivers.
    • Ensure all job duties are completed and employees are appropriate for their roles
    • Supervise and work directly with all contract workers, and file appropriate Contract Labor Work Forms
    • Work directly with Salesman for railcar logistics and current scrap metal pricing
    • Work directly with Salesman or customers for locking in pricing and securing contracts for iron (for field work or dumpster services)
    • Control traffic patterns in the yard or field and maintain yard or field layout
    • Maintain appropriate company softwares and applications (ex: Google Docs spreadsheets, Driveroo)
    • Ensuring appropriate company, federal, and state reports and forms are being filled out when needed (ex: daily reports, injury reports, damaged equipment forms)
    • Work directly with Human Resources Department to appropriately recruit/advertise, onboard, train, perform performance evaluations (30-day, 90-day, 1 year, and annual), and offboard employees
    • Work directly with the Finance Department ensure all financial paperwork is correct and filed appropriately (ex: invoices, receipts)
    • Maintain and manage a set budget as appropriate, ensuring credit card and charge accounts are used appropriately, and request authorization forms for charges greater than $1,000 are being sent as needed
    • Perform general office administration duties as needed, including scale operating, and non-ferrous sorting as needed
    • Maintain adequate supply of office supplies, safety gear, and other necessary items

    Duties and Job Responsibilities

    • Appropriate drug/alcohol testing
    • Excellent attendance (no tardiness or absences in the 90 day probationary period, unless approved by manager)
    • Maintain safe and clean work environment
    • Maintain profitable location, with quality work
    • Communicate any issues immediately to Chief Operating Officer

    Key Competencies

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop environment while provided excellent customer service
    • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toed boots, and any other required equipment
    • Ability to communicate effectively using oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to intermittently bend, crouch, reach, push and pull 50lbs, and lift 50 lbs from floor to waist.
    • Ability to execute job duties independently and ensure all employees are performing their job duties
    • Ability to work overtime and be flexible with work schedule/hours, as needed
    • Ability to show up to work on time and ready to work

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $70,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
