Document Control Manager oversees document and record control operations, policies, and procedures for the secure management and access of company information assets. Establishes security protocols for the access, storage, backup, maintenance, reproduction, protection, and disposition of all documents. Being a Document Control Manager evaluates media formats and recommends storage requirements to protect and secure records/information. Develops and manages access and control procedures to comply with requirements for varying levels of security classifications specified by the governing authority. Additionally, Document Control Manager maintains auditing, monitoring, and change control systems to ensure document integrity, quality, and version control. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May require security clearance. Typically reports to a director. The Document Control Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Document Control Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. We are looking for an experienced Business Development professional to join our team.  The ideal candidate for the position is an experienced individual with the ability to excel in a challenging, fast-paced government contractor environment.  There is some flexibility for hybrid/remote work, but the selected candidate’s primary office location will be our office in Alexandria, VA. 

     

    OVERVIEW

    SBG’s Health Services Division is seeking a person to support business development and capture activities for our Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) clients as well as other Federal Health Customers.  The successful candidate will assist in identifying, qualifying, and pursuing new business opportunities within the VA and related markets across the sector. Prefer candidates who have a network of relationships at VA and demonstrate an understanding of the VA including organizational structure, mission priorities, and general procurement approaches.  You will leverage this knowledge to develop customer and partner engagement plans and provide leadership with recommendations in the marketplace leading to the development and execution of VA go-to-market account plans.  The breadth and depth of our business portfolio and the scale of VA ensure you can take on new challenges and new roles as our business and mission-impact expands.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead and provide business development support for the VA account across the new business and re-compete capture lifecycle from opportunity identification, qualification, win strategy development, proposal development, and the post submission phases of the business capture lifecycle.
    • As a member of multi-disciplinary teams, formulate, communicate, and implement integrated business development and capture strategies that provide customers a clear and value-adding justification for selecting SBG for the award.
    • Develop and implement portfolio campaign plans and strategies, maintain a firm comprehension of the customer's requirements, understand strengths and weaknesses of our competitors, and develop/implement winning strategies that highlight strengths and mitigate weaknesses.
    • Perform business development activities including networking and research to increase business. Maintain a current knowledge base of opportunities.
    • Work and meet with current and potential clients to ascertain their requirements and apprise them of company capabilities and solutions. Support development of white papers, proposals, solutions, plans of action, business plans, and marketing materials.
    • Assist Sector Growth collaboratively with Capture Managers and Program Leads to pursue opportunities. Lead and/or support New Business reviews, Business Area reviews, Opportunity Gate reviews.
    • Interact with a broad range of internal and teammate subject matter experts to develop technical, management, teaming, transition, relevant experience, and pricing strategies. Participate in bid and proposal, strategy, technical, and pricing reviews.
    • Co-Lead with the Proposal Manager the proposal reviews. Actively review proposals and provide recommendations for improvement that increases probability of win.

     

    Qualifications


    • Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business-related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, and work experience.

    • 7 years of demonstrated experience working with VA program managers, leaders, and stakeholders including related marketing and Healthcare business development experience.
    • Familiarity with Federal government healthcare industry technical, operational, and managerial initiatives and innovations.
    • Thorough familiarity with Shipley (or similar) business pursuit and capture methodologies and activities. Demonstrated history of and experience in managing and completing business development tasks across the acquisition lifecycle.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of the VA and other Federal Health agencies (e.g. DHA, NIH) with direct client interface experience of the VA and/or similar agencies.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate VA and Federal agency mission needs into business opportunities.
    • Demonstrated ability to build relationships in the VA and work as part of a highly dynamic team.tgb

    • Must possess or have ability to obtain Public Trust and/or active DoD security clearance.
