Distribution Manager manages and deploys the operational strategy, business processes, and systems for overall distribution operations, including order fulfillment, warehousing, inventory management, and transportation. Communicates and monitors production measurement metrics and sets performance targets at the team and individual level for all distribution-related functions that align with company objectives and are within regulatory guidelines. Being a Distribution Manager utilizes data-driven analytical tools and systems to continuously monitor operations, identify inefficiencies, and develop optimization strategies. Troubleshoots and resolves escalated operational issues. Additionally, Distribution Manager ensures all operations adhere to industry safety protocols and comply with OSHA, DOT, or other governmental regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Distribution Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Distribution Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     As a Warehouse and Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations and logistics activities to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and timely delivery of goods. You will lead a team of warehouse staff, coordinate with suppliers, transportation providers, and internal departments to optimize inventory management, distribution processes, and customer satisfaction.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Warehouse Management:

    • Develop and implement efficient warehouse procedures and policies to optimize storage space, inventory accuracy, and productivity.
    • Supervise receiving, storage, and distribution of goods, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
    • Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and coordinate with purchasing to maintain optimal stock levels.

    2. Logistics Coordination:

    • Plan and execute transportation of goods to meet delivery schedules and customer requirements.
    • Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to arrange shipments and ensure timely customs clearance.
    • Track shipments, resolve transportation issues, and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.

    3. Team Leadership:

    • Recruit, train, and manage warehouse staff, including supervisors, forklift operators, and pickers/packers.
    • Provide guidance, motivation, and performance feedback to ensure high levels of productivity and morale.
    • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the warehouse team.

    4. Inventory Control:

    • Implement inventory management systems to accurately track stock movements, minimize discrepancies, and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
    • Conduct regular audits and cycle counts to reconcile inventory records with physical stock levels.
    • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast demand, and optimize stock replenishment strategies.

    5. Process Optimization:

    • Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency gains within the warehouse and logistics operations.
    • Implement best practices, automation solutions, and technology tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational performance.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate warehouse and logistics processes with other business functions such as sales, procurement, and customer service.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. (Preferred)
    • Proven experience (3 years) in warehouse management, logistics coordination, or related roles.
    • Strong leadership abilities with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in warehouse management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office suite.
    • Knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices in warehousing and logistics.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, generate insights, and make data-driven decisions.
    • Problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

    Additional Requirements:

    • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects, operate material handling equipment, and perform tasks in a warehouse environment.
    • Certification in forklift operation, handling of hazardous materials, or other relevant areas (preferred).
