Decision Support Specialist provides guidance and solutions to users working with decision support software and data tools. Assists in the preparation, deployment, and delivery of decision support tools to users. Being a Decision Support Specialist analyzes user requirements and evaluates functionality and configuration options available for existing and new software. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Decision Support Specialist typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Decision Support Specialist work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Required:
· Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, healthcare administration or related area
· Five years of prior experience in healthcare finance or healthcare financial analysis to include experience working with hospital clinical/claim and financial data, working with large databases; data extraction and analysis and the a bility to extract data and analyze using a variety of tools including SQL, Access, Excel.
OR
· Ten years of prior experience in healthcare finance or healthcare financial analysis to include experience working with hospital clinical/claim and financial data, working with large databases; data extraction and analysis and the a bility to extract data and analyze using a variety of tools including SQL, Access, Excel
Preferred:
· Master's degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration
· One year of experience with healthcare contract management/reimbursement systems and k nowledge of healthcare reimbursement methodologies
